A
premier
resort
once
thrived
in
Barangay
Ilijan,
Bago
City,
Negros
Occidental.
To
most
of
us
now,
the
place
may
not
really
value
that
much,
but
to
each
and
every
Bagueño
who
has
lived
through
that
era,
the
place
is
one
that
brings
back
nostalgic
memories.
To
them
the
place
“Buenos
Aires”. |
 |
Buenos
Aires
Mountain
Resort
comprises
18.9950
hectare
portion
of
property
that
was
previously
nothing
but
mere
jungles.
General
Juan
A.
Araneta,
the
Negrense
hero
of
the
1898
revolution,
its
owner,
named
the
place
Buenos
Aires,
after
one
of
the
places
he
visited abroad. |
|
|
|
|
 |
In,
1992,
the
City
of
Bago
headed
by
Mayor
Manuel
Y.
Torres,
having
in
mind
that
the
resort
has
a
potential
of
becoming
a
world
class
tourist
destination
purchased
the
property
from
its
owners.
The
vision
is
to
bring
back
its
statures
to
what
it
had
been
known
for
during
the pre-war
days
and
to
provide
livelihood
to
the
people
in
the
community. |
 |
Today
the
resort
is
one
of
the
tourist
destinations
in
Negros.
The
influx
of
both
domestic
and
foreign
tourists,
the
employment
that
it
generates,
the
income
opportunities
that
it
provides
o
the
community
are
testimonials
pf
its
success. The
Resort
is
accredited
with
the
Department
of
Tourism
as “AA” standard
tourist
establishment. |

The
kipot
Summer
Resort
is
home
to
the
enchanting
Kipot
Twin
Falls,
a
stream
separated
by
a
sharp
overhang
that
splits
the
path
of
water
into
two
seemingly
identical
cascades. |
 |
The
Kipot
Summer
Resort
is
great
for
family
picnics
and
nature
tripping
activities.
The
magnificent
falls
makes
you
feel
you’re
in
the
middle
of
a
mystical
paradise.
Trekking
along
boulders
that
form
a
narrow
pathway,
with
raging
falls
nearby,
puts
the
experience
of
nature’s
treasures
within
reach. |
|
|
|
|
 |
From
the
gateway
to
the
falls
is
a
good
220
steps
down
a
winding
stairs.
The
stairway
starts
from
a
wide
downhill
path
to
a
slim
alley
hugging
the
mountain
side.
An
ideal
trail
for
hiking.
Upon
reaching
the
falls, one
forgets
tires
limbs
from
the
long
trek
because
of
the
magnificent
beauty
and
soothing
effect
of
the
cascades. |
 |
The
site
of
the
Kipot
Summer
Resort
is
a
humble
donation
of
former
Vice-Mayor
Romualdo
S.
Araneta and
family.
With
this
gratuity
goes
the
donor’s
or
recipients
commitment
to
the
protection
and
preservation
of
mother
nature
and
their
unending
call
to
the
Bagueños
to
appreciate
and
take
part
in
the
preservation
efforts,
and
to
abundantly
reap
the
benefits
it
provides
to
the
people
and
the
generations
to
come. |

The
Mt.
Kanla-on
Natural
Park
is
an
unquestionable
illustration
of
a
haven
for
nature
tourism
and
recreational
development.
The
outstanding
panoramic
and
aesthetic
make
it
one
of
the
Philippines
finest
wonders.
A
home
for
wide
range
of
flora
and
fauna,
several
of which
are
endemic
to
the
place,
this
16th
highest
peak
in
the
country
is
endowed
with
beautiful
scenery
of
valleys,
waterfalls,
caves,
and
springs. |
 |
Rafael
Salas
Park
and
Nature
Center
as
it
is
now
also
a
tribute
to
the
resourcefulness
of
the
late
Mayor
Manuel
Y.
Torres who
was
able
to
pull
together
the
resources
if
interested
sectors
to
develop
the
park
into
what
it
is
today.
A
convention
hall
and
the
Salas
memorial
bust-statue
were
reconstructed
by
the
City
serving
shelter
and
landmarks
to
visiting
tourists. |
|
|
|
 |
Today
the
City
through
its
Mayor
Janet
E.
Torres continues
the
development
set
by
her
predecessor
with
a
view
not
only
to
develop
the
park
but
also
to
transform
the
same
into
a
major
tourism
center.
Towards
this
goal
the
city
focuses
on
the
development
of
the
physical
features
of
the
park-
landscaping and
rehabilitation
of
the
flora
and
fauna
through
conservation
and
preservation,
maintenance
of
existing
structures
and
complimentary
construction
if
more
facilities,
particularly
the
establishment
of
a
fully
defined
and
developed
recreational
areas. |
