Agriculture, aside from its economic gains brought about by good harvest, had also been developed and utilized as a tourist attraction. Along this concept are the development initiatives undertaken by Mr. Donato C. Cruz in their property in Barangay Tabunan, now known as the Quiet Place Resort, the largest Duck Raising Farm in the province owned by Mr. Stephen Young in Barangay Napoles; the Crocodile Farm of Mr. Albert Lim in Barangay Abuanan, and many others.
Natural endowments such as springs, rivers, mountains, waterfalls, thick forests, beaches and other natural wonders were also utilized and developed into valuable tourist destinations. The City government of Bago in its entrepreneurial administration spearheads these efforts. The City Government under Mayor Ramon D. Torres continually develops the Rafael Salas Park and Nature Center in Barangay llijan, the Buenos Aires Mountain Resort, and the Kipot Twin Falls. Private entrepreneurs follow suit, the Jara Family for their Jara Beach Resort, the Malayang’s for the Ressa Beach Resort; the Colmenares’s for the Humberto’s River Resort, among others.
Historical Sites were also preserved and/or restored; significant places were installed with markers and monuments to maintain their historical value and for better appreciation of the colorful history and culture of the Bagonhons.
The bottom line here is not only to continue developing our tourist destinations to further boost domestic and foreign tourists, but to be able to spread the economic benefits to the countryside so that the community would feel the economic gains of this industry.
